Children’s Books Unfolding Stories
Bridget Marzo introduces Paris based Les Trois Ourses (The Three Bears) and their latest book, Katsumi Komagata’s Aller-Retour. Based on pictograms for the French motorway system, this book is formed of fold out cards which children can create their own stories from.
In the reportage article, Varoom talks with Leah Fusco about her latest project, Northeye. Fusco documents the physical reshaping of a submerged medieval island, using illustration to communicate alternative time frames, resulting in illustrations that are topographical and layered with information.
I Wish I’d done This
Luise Vormittag choses Paddy Molloy’s new interactive installation Crossing Time, commissioned by House of Illustration. Vormittag attended the private view, and narrates her findings for Varoom, revealing the context that inspired the project.
